Bluesky mention by @HaplessMagician: @natee_osatis @Maximilianthe3d @_MetaMage_ Yeah, Prowess seems right. The bot and analysis in the links seem to not be working correctly. MTGDecks also has a similar analysis with deck name links to click through and see the results it is capturing. https://t.co/Uj6OpMyWFL Please answer the question based on MTG tournament data. The full thread JSON is available but omitted here.

I need to look at Prowess in Modern to provide a useful analysis. Let me pull the relevant data.

Here is a full breakdown of Modern Prowess based on tournament data from the past two months (Jan 5 through Mar 5, 2026).

PRESENCE AND STANDING IN THE META

Prowess sits at 3.64% meta presence over the last 60 days, placing it 7th among tracked archetypes. That is a meaningful step behind the top tier (Boros Energy at 15.21%, Ruby Storm at 7.07%, Jeskai Blink at 6.26%, Affinity at 6.15%, Tron at 6.14%), but it is a consistently represented archetype across 83 tournaments and 176 entries in just the recent two-month window. The archetype has been played far more broadly when looking at the full dataset the overview captures (2,832 entries across 52 tracked tournaments).

PERFORMANCE

The winrate picture is below average. Excluding mirrors, Prowess sits at 48.6% over the Jan 5-Mar 5 window (353-374). The weekly trend shows a tough stretch from late January through mid-February (lows of 37% and 43%), with a recovery in the most recent week ending Mar 1 (59.1% across 53 matches), though that sample is smaller. This is not a top-performing deck right now by winrate; it is being propped up by pilot count and consistency of showing up rather than dominance.

CORE CARDS

The list is extremely consistent. Cori-Steel Cutter, Dragon's Rage Channeler, Lightning Bolt, Monastery Swiftspear, Mishra's Bauble, and Lava Dart all appear at 4-of in 100% of lists (191 decks). Preordain (97%), Violent Urge (97%), Slickshot Show-Off (96%), Mutagenic Growth (95%), Expressive Iteration (95%), and Thundering Falls (93%) round out the near-universal shell. There is very little variance in the maindeck, which confirms this is a tightly defined archetype with a stable identity.
