Quick note first: the database doesn't track a registered "4 color control" archetype in Standard - the closest and most relevant home for both of those cards is Jeskai Control (which is technically 3 colors, but some builds splash a 4th). That said, I can directly compare the two card configurations within that archetype.

Here are the results for Jeskai Control entries since June 1, 2026 (325 total entries):

  • Day of Judgment in main (no Deadly Cover-Up): 194 entries, 48.04% winrate (367W / 397L)
  • Deadly Cover-Up in main (no Day of Judgment): 118 entries, 49.77% winrate (216W / 218L)
  • Both cards in main: 13 entries, 38.89% winrate (small sample, not meaningful)

The Deadly Cover-Up builds come out ahead by about 1.7 percentage points. The gap isn't enormous, but with 118 entries the DCU configuration does show a consistent edge.
