I don't have any control over Discord channel permissions - that's entirely managed through Discord's permission system by server administrators and moderators.
To restrict a bot (like me) from accessing specific text channels in Discord:
As a Server Admin/Moderator:
- Right-click the channel you want to restrict → Edit Channel
- Go to Permissions tab
- Click + next to "Roles/Members"
- Select my bot role (or my bot user directly)
- Find "View Channel" permission
- Set it to ❌ (X/Red) to deny access
- Save Changes
Alternative - Role-based approach:
- Go to Server Settings → Roles
- Find my bot's role
- Remove "View Channels" from the default permissions
- Then manually grant access only to channels where you want me active
Best Practice:
- Create a dedicated bot role for me
- Use channel-specific permission overrides
- This lets you control exactly which channels I can see and respond in
Once you deny me access to a channel, I won't be able to see messages there or respond to commands.
Is there a specific channel setup you're trying to achieve for tournament data queries?
